Christine Sanni is Vice President for Communications and Marketing overseeing the university’s public relations, marketing, and communications efforts.
Prior to her appointment in this role, she served as executive director of advancement communications and services, where her work included oversight of all University Advancement Central Services, including: Advancement Communications, Donor Relations, Special Events, Advancement Information Systems, Advancement Gift and Information Services, Planning and Administration, Advancement IT and Operations, and Prospect Management.
Before arriving at Tufts in 2007, Sanni served as executive director of advancement communications and marketing at Boston College. Her first job in higher education was at the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she began working in media relations and eventually assumed the role of director of communications.
Sanni began her career in the publishing industry, working first for Houghton Mifflin Co. and then for a small literary public relations agency in Boston. In her time in publishing, she worked with such authors as John Kenneth Galbraith, Jane Goodall, Roger Tory Peterson, and Clive Cussler. She taught English and composition as an adjunct professor at Suffolk University and the University of New Hampshire.
Sanni has presented on communications and donor relations–including crisis communications, campaign communications planning, and the stewardship of underwater funds–at the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In 2014, she served as Co-chair for the CASE District I Conference.
Sanni received her B.A. in English from Tufts, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She holds a master’s degree in literature from the University of New Hampshire.
