Brian J. McCarthy, A75, A07P
Brian McCarthy is Partner at the law firm of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP and head of its Los Angeles, CA office. He graduated from Tufts University in 1975 with a B.A., magna cum laude, in History and Political Science. He is a former president and member of the executive committee of the Tufts University Alumni Association and has served on the Tufts Lawyers Association Board and the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. He is a member of the Los Angeles Tufts Alliance.
Mr. McCarthy is a former chief operating officer and general counsel at Pacific Capital Group, Inc. He is a member of the Executive Committee, Business and Corporations Law Section, Los Angeles County Bar Association and former chairman of the University of Southern California Institute for Corporate Counsel.
Mr. McCarthy has been included in Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Who’s Who Legal for California and Corporate Governance, and The Best Lawyers in America. Best Lawyers also named him “Los Angeles Corporate Governance Lawyer of the Year” for 2019 and “Los Angeles Corporate Lawyer of the Year” for 2017.
Mr. McCarthy’s wife, Shelley R. McCarthy, J75, A07P, is a member of the Board of Advisors for the School of Arts and Sciences. They have two daughters: Kiley, A07, and Bryn.
