Meet Our New Alumni Trustee

The Alumni Association elected Andre T. Baynes as an Alumni Trustee in April 2023. Alumni Trustee elect Baynes will join the Board of Trustees in November 2023.

Andre Baynes is Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Fidelity Investments in Boston. Fidelity Investments is one of the world’s largest financial services companies which provides record keeping, investment management, brokerage and custodial/trustee services to thousands of institutional clients and millions of individual customers.

Mr. Baynes rejoined Fidelity in 2001 and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He focuses his legal practice on employee benefits, retirement and tax law issues impacting Fidelity’s internal business units. Prior to Fidelity, he worked in senior product management, sales and relationship management roles at a number of financial services companies including Massachusetts Financial Services, Putnam Investments and Gruntal & Company.

Mr. Baynes received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Tufts University, a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Boston University and a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School.

He is currently a member of the Tufts President’s Council, a board member of the Tufts Lawyers Association and has contributed to the Tufts community over the years as an admissions interviewer for the TAAP program, undergraduate mentor and a member of the Bruce-Griffey Scholarship Fund Committee.

Outside of his professional and volunteer activities, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their three daughters, family and friends. He is also an avid track and field athlete and fitness enthusiast who continues to compete domestically and internationally.
