Tony Anderson

Mr. Anderson recently retired as a partner in the public transit practice at Thompson Coburn LLP, a full-service law firm with more than 4000 attorneys. He had been in private practice for more than 37 years and advised many of the nation’s largest transit systems.  He spent six years as a co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee and is a past chair of the Legal Affairs Committee of the American Public Transportation Association.  Tony is also a former member of the Board of Directors and former Governance Chair of Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders (SMYAL), a group that supports and empowers the LGBTQ youth in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Tony earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia, School of Law in 1979, and his B.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University in 1976.
