Cristiana Falcone has over 17 years of international career experience working in strategy and business development for global corporations (SONY, Shell), international governmental organizations (ILO, IFAD, FAO, UNDCOP, IADB) and the media (RAI, Gruppo Espresso, World Economic Forum Media, Entertainment, Information and Sports Industries, Univision).

She currently serves as Principal Adviser, Media Affairs at the World Economic Forum on New Initiatives and Special Projects. Prior to her current role, she focused on strategic outreach. Cristiana joined the Forum in 2004 to lead the Media, Entertainment and Information Industries. In this capacity, she built and managed relationships with industry leaders, policy makers, experts and academics worldwide. She also designed and developed specific industry projects (scenarios on the future of the digital ecosystem, a rare case study on media opportunities in fast growing markets and the future of networked journalism) and represented the Forum at conferences and gatherings including the Annual Meeting in Davos. Cristiana’s recent advisory work included forging strategic alliances with various stakeholders interested in Latin America’s economic and social development working directly with the President of the Inter-American Development Bank.

She is a member of the board of Viacom, Revlon, Internews, The Paley Center for Media, and the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. She is a member of the Italian National Journalists’ Guild and the Women In Leadership network. As the CEO of the JMCMRJ Sorrell’s charitable foundation, Cristiana leads its efforts in supporting education and health projects worldwide. Cristiana is a member of the board directors of the Global Fashion Agenda, the foremost leadership forum for industry collaboration of sustainability in fashion.

Ms. Falcone graduated from the University of Rome La Sapienza in Political Science and earned her Master’s Degree in Humanitarian Assistance from Tufts University’s Friedman School and Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy with a thesis on the role of media in complex emergencies. She holds a Master’s in Diplomatic Studies from the Italian Society for International Organization and the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs Diplomatic Academy and several postgraduate certificates in leadership, corporate strategy and management. She is the recipient of the 2012 Poder Award in leadership, the 2014 honoree of La Scuola Italiana Guglielmo Marconi, and was the 2015 commencement speaker for Tufts University’s Friedman School.

She was elected to the Tufts University Board of Trustees on November 2, 2019.
