Elizabeth McClain, Associate Treasurer
Elizabeth “Beth” McClain, Associate Treasurer, is responsible for overseeing the university’s debt portfolio, including selecting bankers and advisors, recommending optimal debt structures, negotiating terms, overseeing execution of transactions, and is responsible for monitoring post-issuance compliance for tax-exempt debt. She is also responsible for insuring appropriateness of certain non-standard gifts, overseeing the investment of assets in charitable trusts for which the university is named as Trustee, maintaining foreign bank accounts and purchasing foreign currency to fund the university’s programs abroad, and for reviewing and making recommendations on university policy relating to debt, investments, gifts and the endowment.
Beth has worked at large- to medium-sized global companies in various industries including high tech, manufacturing and construction. She has held several various finance and operations positions of increasing scope and responsibility including project management, capital raising and stock administration.
Beth earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston College and an MBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. She also holds a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation, and is a member of the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP). Beth earned a Certificate in Foreign Language Study-Spanish from the College of San Mateo and is a member of The Boston Club as well as the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
