Michael Rodman, Vice President for Public Affairs
Michael Rodman oversees Public Affairs, advancing the university’s strategic priorities by telling the Tufts story, promoting the research and scholarship of our faculty and students, and deepening relationships with our communities.
The Division of Public Affairs brings Government and Community Relations (GCR) and University Communications and Marketing (UCM) together to create valuable opportunities for greater collaboration and a more unified approach to sharing the Tufts story and advocating for our interests with our many audiences, host communities, and constituencies at the local, state, and federal levels.
Michael has more than 25 years of experience leading communications and marketing teams. Prior to joining Tufts University in August 2018, Michael served as the assistant dean for communications and marketing at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Earlier in his career, he served as assistant director of communications at Harvard Law School and as a speechwriter/researcher for U.S. Representative Steny Hoyer in the Committee on House Administration. He has a B.A. in political science from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
