Michael W. Howard, Executive Vice President

On July 1, 2019 Michael Howard became Executive Vice President of Tufts University. As Executive Vice President, Mr. Howard is responsible for all aspects of  Tufts’ financial operations as well as human resources, facilities management, real estate, information technology, dining services, internal audit, risk management and public safety.

Prior to Tufts, Mr. Howard was Executive Vice President of Smith College from 2014 to 2019, and was Vice President for Finance at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2011 to 2014.  Before his appointment at MIT, Mr. Howard spent 15 years in financial leadership roles at Fidelity Investments and as a strategy and operations consultant at Deloitte Consulting.

Mr. Howard holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with a concentration in Finance, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
